INSTALLATIONS
The materials presented on this website are installed at satellite locations across the downtown area of K'jipuktuk/Halifax, in addition to being collected here on this website. This dual approach was chosen to prioritize different modes of access, and makes space for the material to be seen in full by those seeking it out and in passing by members of the community who might not seek out queer historical material.

NSCAD University Library, 5163 Duke Street, Halifax, NS.
Three print-based installations displaying archival materials related to feminist organizing, AIDS activism and community care, and queer political organizing. Please note, there is a projection of photographs by Anita Martinez, elder and donor to the Nova Scotia LGBT Seniors Archive, that is only viewable from sunset to sunrise. Otherwise, this installation is viewable from the street, 24/7.

ArtBar +Projects, 1873 Granville Street, Halifax, NS.
A recorded oral history with lifelong K’jipuktuk/Halifax resident and queer community elder Wesley Riley. The oral history was done by Brody Weaver, Wren Tian-Morris, Britt Moore-Shirley, and Sofie Kreidstein. This installation is viewable from sunset to sunrise.

This site houses a projection of archival material pertaining to the Turret, a queer bar that used to occupy this building. The currently uninhabited building is lit up in blue and purple. Viewable from street level, sunset to sunrise.
